Next, launched in 1982, is a British retailer for clothing, footwear, accessories and home products with over 550 stores throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland, and 50 franchise branches in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. So imagine my happiness when I was asked to be part of their AW11 Preview!
I had so much fun going thought the trends and in between cocktails, having my nails done; a chance to pick the best selection of items for you. Also, there are a lot of fashion sites that only give you fashion tips but I will give something better. An exclusive view of the AW11 Showroom premises, New make up range (got exclusive tips) and the catalogue that will be available. So you can choose your own top items!
I will show all that stuff!  Before that, I want to leave it clear that I don’t want to sell you anything, just show how looks like a Fashion shoowroom preview! And  let you get ahead on trends with fabrics & Color!
Let’s get this party started!

All the items were divided into 5 sections: Women, Men, Kids, Beauty and Home
And subsections accordingly with each concept where would be some mannequins and rails for the clothes and a “living space “for the furniture.

The women concepts were;
Future bright (1960s shape in bold shades of pink and orange. A lot of structured tailoring like pencil skirts, little coats and shift dresses. Also with the classic winter dogtooth checks, animal prints and continuing with summer trend- stripes.
Heritage: Lady like tweeds, woolen and cozy knits. I love the patchwork motifs. The key for this trend is A line shape & cinnamon color.  I also saw a lot of blouses (pussy-bow) that can be worn with the 70’s Flare trousers (still transition from spring) and faux fur jackets. The always trustful wrap dress was there. Main colors were teal, burnt orange and tan.
Pretty Tough – They present cute flower dresses in pink, plum and purple with biker jackets.
Wilderness – Browns, nude and tangerine tones in coats, jackets and giletts.
If you like quilting your jackets but don’t have the patient to make it, you can get one this season .

Men:  Complement the women collection with concepts as English Gentlemen, 60’s Mod, Every American league campus and great outdoors.  Sorry, not really will talk much here.
Home:  A lot of natural textures, cool palette of soft grey & white.. There is also extravagant floral, feathers and animal motifs with hot pink & black gloss as palette.  I saw the other corner some beautiful washed hues of blue, grey and mauve in watery prints. Last but not least, there was a retro feeling in the next capsule with earth, camel, cream palette.

  • Oh those drinks….wish i was there to help u drink them. Next always have good stuff, but I always wait for their sale. They have amazing sales. What are you going to make with the polish dot jersey?

  • The drinks were great but too many of them ! I am so excited and scared about the jersey fabric. Not even know what to make and what type of pattern to choose. Did you sew all in the overlocker? Used special neddles? give me some tips if u have ! xx

  • I used the overlocker for the side seams and shoulders, then used my machine to join the bodice and the skirt. It is advisable to use ballpoint needles. They work best. Also you have to be careful when cutting the fabric, because it can be slippery.
    Don’t be scared, I’m sure you will do just fine. Before sewing, make sure u test the stitching on scrap piece o the jersey.

  • I am loving the drinks AND the shoes…I such a sucker for a good pair of shoes!! You look like you were having a fabulous time!
