The Victorian Era (1837 – 1901) and its fashion history.
Well, it’s Dickens after all, and our streets are full of beautifull Victorian costumes so the perfect post would be to dedicate it to the fashion of that era.

Can you guess what year I am wearing?

The Victorian era is generally agreed to stretch through the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901) and it was a tremendously exciting period when many artistic styles, literary schools, as well as, social, political and religious movements flourished.

It was a time of prosperity, broad imperial expansion, and great political reform. It was also a time, which today we associate with “prudishness” and “repression”.
There are a lot to talk and little space so I built you a timeline of changes to the dress code on ladies fashion during that time.

Before I close with this post, one of my favourite period dramas is the film about Victoria and Albert falling in love.Their love story is beautiful and the film does immaculate justice to the period . If you have the opportunity, go and see it. (also they give the name of my favorite museum)
