So do you want to know what I have been doing today? Sewing? Quilting? Knitting? Reviewing products? Writing about Make up or other informative tutorial? Baking?
Today I joined the Friends of the Vines and other visitors at Rochester Cherry Picnic in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care. I have been lucky enough to not experience cancer in my family & close friends but I understand how important is to raise the issue and help others in this difficult times.
Recently I read a post on Meg the Grand where she told a story about her best friends that died of cancer and how courageous she uses her friend memory to inspire her sewing .
Macmillan Cancer Support is a
based charity that improves the lives of people affected by cancer providing medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. If you also you like to make a donation you can on their website or when TED comes to visit me in August. Invite us for a cup of tea and cake…He will love it. We will be going around raising money. At the moment he is enjoying his trip with talented sewist Diane (Marguerite Designs- TED at Races) UK
You can hear more how I became involve on this event last year on a previous post and I was delighted to come back to help and be part in such important fund raising and of course… bake !
Last year I baked an amazing recipe that I was sure would raise the bar for this years entries and in fact I did. So many amazing desserts that the judges really struggle to get into a consensus and when they did it only1 point that made the chocolate brownie the winner. Well done everyone that contributed!
Do you want to join us next year and what to know what else happens? There are a lot of cherry-related craft stalls, competitions and children’s activities and the ever popular sale of Kentish cherries.
Changing subject but still cherry related, I wish I had asked Charlotte from Tupence Ha’penny to borrow me her gorgeous cherry hat when we meet briefly on Goldhawk road. Isn’t she gorgeous?
I am wearing my blue& white top for the sew weekly meet up !
I will sharing you the final result on how much we have raised once I hear the final result!
Lost of love!
