Cris made such a lovely dress that when her stepdaughter Hanna saw it, she asked If she could wear it for a party. With few minimal alterations (mostly making the dress very short), It went from classic to young in few minutes.
Fabric: jersey polka dot
Time to complete: it was made during my sewing class, so probably all together 6 hours. But it could be done in only couple of hours.
Did the pattern turn out like the picture or drawing? Well, I was a bit disappointed with the gathering bit at the front, but maybe next time I will try to make more gathered.
Did you make any alterations or modifications? The only alteration I had to do it was the neck, I had to make it shorter than the original pattern.
What did you particularly like or dislike about this pattern: I like it because it is a very elegant dress and easy to make, but the gathering wasn’t the way I thought it was going to be.
Did you use new skills or a particular skill: Nothing new. I just finished to make the coat, which it was quite hard and time consuming so when I started making this dress I was quite pleased and had fun making it.
First worn: my stepdaughter worn it first this weekend 02.03.12
Wear again? Yes
Will you make it again? I will try to make another one in a different fabric with strech.
Total price: around £15.00
Photo shoot camera: Used my HTC- sorry about the quality
