On my sewing table…

Waiting for me to come home…

I’m excited to start and thought would be a great way to dive into 2013 with a big project. To make it less daunting, I graded this vintage pattern, cut the main pieces, leaving the facings, sleeves and cuffs out  before I left for christmas. I haven’t market them yet as they fade with time…

Have you got a project over the holidays, please share!

  • Oh! I have the same pattern! This will look so great on you!! I’ve cut out a dress to work on, but so far it’s just looking at me from the sewing table. Cursing my name 😀

  • I love the pattern. Looking forward to seeing it on you 🙂

Great pattern; the portrait collar with the tie will look nice. I’ve been working on a corduroy shirt dress for an eon now, so I’m not sure that qualifies as a holiday project or not. Not much of a holiday from work for me, but I’m *hoping* to finish the dress by new year’s.

  • Ooh how exciting! Can’t wait to see it on you!

  • This looks rad, Rach! I have just finished some summer sewing (two pairs of Iris shorts and a tee) but am thinking Gertie’s bombshell is going to be my big project for the rest of summer. If my epic fabric arrives…

  • Gorgeous fabric! The pattern is great too.

  • I must admit I am not a follower of vintage patterns. However, I am VERY interested in seeing this one completed! Good luck!

  • This is going to be beautiful, can’t wait to see the end product!

  • Oh yay! I can’t wait to see this on you!! It’s going to be SO CUTE!!

  • Do you baste the pattern to the fabric? It’s just that in the photo the fabric appears to be folded round the pattern pieces. Please tell me you’ll have a beautiful hat like in the pattern picture to take photos with? Beautiful neckline on the top.

  • The patterns are pinned, so today I can mark them properly and start sewing

  • Love this style. And I love the way the models stand too.

  • This looks very promising, great fabric and pattern! As for me, I haven’t been able to do any sewing as my family have been staying with me and it seemed a little rude to go and sew instead of socialising 😉 I’ve been knitting instead!!
