Liberty and other fabric shops with Clio.

No sewing done, but at least a lot of sewing related activity here. As I mention on my previous post I was hosting Clio , NY Blogger, for a few hours on saturday before she went home. My fellow came too, bless him.. we tried to not bored him too much.

We started the day having a delicious brunch in Simpsons in the strand. It’s such a beautiful place. Sorry not photos there or of the food.
From there, it’s only a quick walk to Convent Garden where we walked around for some inspiration before hitting the fabrics shops in Soho. Berwick Street has a few of shops and it’s quite expensive too. So no fabric shopping done, just browsing and ‘ohhh that’s gorgeous’..’This is so Oona’ and so on.

On the way, we couldn’t miss the ‘no introductions needed’ Liberty store.

The weather in the UK still terribly cold and getting colder but I tried to add a bit of spring through my outfit. I always get complements on this shop bought skirt so maybe I should look for a pattern to make my own. Recommendations?

  • You see, that’s why next time I come to the UK, I am totally enlisting some tour guides. The ONLY fabric shops I found were on Berwick St and yup, pretty meh and expensive. Didn’t even get to Liberty’s. Tourist fail! LOL!
Rachel why not draft a pattern off that skirt? It’s an easy one. Assuming that the skirt seams are straight, you just need the top panel and bottom panel and length measurements to draw up the panel/s pattern. Tada!!! xo

  • quite an international affair – glad you had fun

    • Thanks , how is the wedding dress going? knowing your talents, im certain will be amazing.

  • Sounds like you had a great time… lucky! ๐Ÿ™‚

That skirt is lovely. The self-belt is great too. I have a pattern recommendation- either one of these could work I think!
