On my recent work for Crafty magazine I make my own bias binding. Here it’s a step by step tutorial for it.
- Cut 2.5” strips of fabrics on a 45 degree angle (Bias)
- To connect the strips, place the strips into 90 degree angle. One horizontally and the other vertically, right sides together. Sew diagonally across. Backstitch to secure both ends. Trim the ends. It will be a continues strip. Press the seam open.
- Fold and press the strip half way. That will create a crease in the middle.
- Open the strip and fold the sides to met at the crease in the middle.
Hurray, you made your own bias…
