Hello friends

We are closely approaching our sewing meet up on the 17th May! Are you excited?

Managing email correspondences can be quite complex so I have created an attendance list. If you planning to join me and a really fun group of sewists, please sign up your presence here.

* updated: I just want to be clear this is a very informal meeting so as the day goes by we will take decisions jointly  I’m just serving as hostess.

Meeting itinerary:

Date: May 17 2014.

10:30 Meet at V&A. We (Tricia, Jenny, Devra, Vicki) will be waiting for you at the museum grand entrance. (Inside the Building)
Source & Copyright:Victoria and Albert Museum

10:45 V&A Tea rooms: We will move to the tea rooms for refreshments. This will give us the perfect opportunity to get to know everyone a bit better within in a smaller setting. As you arrive, come and say hello to me, join a table, grab drinks and food. We won’t eat till very late so take this opportunity to eat and drink.
11:30-12:00 Group Photo at the V&A garden.  Professional photographer Kitty Wong (@Houseofeunoia) will come and take shoots of the day. Dress fabulous (Handmade get brownie points)
As soon as we get our photos done, we will head to Goldhawk Rd. There are more than 14 shops spread around with a variety of fabrics choices. They are generally tiny in size so we cannot fit all of us at once. Best way is set you free to form small groups to explore. Some of you that know the area well can offer to guide others if you want. Rosie from DIY Couture have a description of some of the shops.

3:00 Re Group at Costa Cafe Find food. Last year we had a restaurant for us, unfortunately we don’t have one today. If we are to book a hall with food we must do it as soon as possible. Otherwise, we will have to walk in a place in Westfield. Pls let me know if would wouldn’t mind paying a fixed price.   *We are so far 67 people  registered and many preferred not to have a pre booked food place and there is no way we can have a booked restaurant now. We are now invading a local pub. Fingers crossed.

This year, we won’t be doing a swap so don’t bring any spare fabric and patterns with you.

Goodie bags this year will be a little different too . I will give you all virtual discount codes of my favourite places (patterns/fabric) valid for the week. Come to the blog the day after (May 18) as there will be an epic giveaway (open to all my readers) to celebrate my blog 3rd birthday!

Name tag swappers: I hope you all sent your name tag/ or arranged in person delivery. For those not joining the meet up but joining the name tag swap, I would love to see it, so Tag it #NYlon2014 on the day!
