Handmade Christmas gifts… the roundup.

Handmade Christmas gifts… the roundup.

Pyjama Eater  teenager mutant ninja turtle:Leonardo.
Pattern: Pajama Eater by Sew fearless.
Modifications: Round/ short legs for the “turtle” and felt appliqué ninja face. Decided to not add the zipper. Reinforced the mouth by overlocking it as hrh reminded me that boys aren’t going to be gentle.

The secret is not to stuff it to much otherwise the pj’s won’t fit. I stuffed mostly around his face leaving the body limp. Embroidered his name on the feet sole. It took only a few hours to make.

Ballerina vintage style slippers.
The slippers started with Burda 7978. I choose to make them a little more ballerina style than the original pattern.

As the pattern was a charity shop score the instructions weren’t enclosed. I made the main two patterns: sole/body twice and sewn them like you would a lining to a bag.  By quilting both layers of fabric separately It gave the slippers more structure and warmth. I used pellon and bamboo batting respectively for the outer and inner fabric.
Teacup caddy/pincushion
I made another teacup fabric caddy.

And for my goddaughter
A collection of 3 baby bibs.
Pattern:Free bib from Stitch Craft and Create

Ps: In my rush to get it all wrapped I took the pictures before pressing and tidying the round collars.

All the fabrics used are Art Gallery. By making many projects at once I was able to use most of the scraps.  Yeah!!!

Already blogged:
For mom: I made the Roxanne Tunic.
For my younger nephew: A baby bag.
