Hello Sew-alongers, can you see the light at the end of the tunnel? I cannot wait for the big reveal on our virtual catwalk (blog) and even better… the streets of the world. I have really enjoyed co-hosting this sew-along and I sincerely hope you have enjoyed sewing with us. Meg will go over the finishing touches.
Today’s post is very short and sweet since the pattern instructions for steps 55-57 are very clear. We have already covered hand-sewing techniques. Have you downloaded your guide yet?
Finish your hem with bias binding. Turn up your hem 1 1/2″ (3.8 cm). You can press or baste in place. Slipstitch the hem in place easing the fullness. Take a short horizontal stitch between the bias and main fabric working from right to left.
Pro tip:When hand sewing hems by hand don’t double your thread.
Pro tip: To avoid knots being caught and pulling the hem down; always start and finish your slipstitch with a double stitch. Double stitch is going back though the stitch you made having the thread wrapped under the needle.
Slipstitch remainder of the lining to front facing and side front seam.
