As I sit to write about my summer Pjs my thermostat marks 4C. Cannot help to feel envious of the wonderful weather I enjoyed the last 11 days. Weather in Brasil was hot with occasional thunderstorms. Like a typical tropical summer. I haven’t sewn much in January (winter blues?) but the night before my flight I wiped up this beaut. The pattern: Fifi by Tilly and the Buttons. A camisole and shorts set where the camisole is cut on the bias, with soft pleated cups, gently shaped princess seam back and bias binding straps. The shorts have a narrow stitched-in elastic waistband and curved hems.
When I read about finished projects I’m always interested in knowing the size and alterations so here are the deeds: No alterations from size 4 besides lengthening the camisole by 5,5 cms and 2 cm “waistband”. Fits very comfortably.
This may be my favourite pattern by Tilly. (Orla and Agnes also hold soft spots in my heart). This pyjamas was easy to sew (like all of her pattern) and full of things I enjoy; french seams and narrow hems. I got my copy on the Handmade Fair. Do you recognise the fabric? I thought you might.
Don’t you love when you find in your stash the perfect compliments for a fabric? This baby pink bias binding and purple bow combo makes me so happy.
