scarfhat scarfhat9 scarfhat6 As promised I’m back sharing my winter makes. Both the scarf and hat aren’t the oldest thing I made but as I been wearing it much It was easy to just take some pictures. I cannot believe how many projects get backlogged because of bad weather.

The hat (Delia Beanie) is made out of an old uniqlo heat-tech jumper. Pattern by Named.  Yay for textile recycling. Pattern is super easy and could be done within 30 mins. Great to make as gifts. The scarf is a simple knit. Colours: black and Granite. I’m trying to build a good motion pace and gauge so when I move to more complicated patterns I am well verse in the “right” movement. My first cardigan will be from Debbie Bliss: beach Belles.

Worn with Vogue Grey Sweater.

I love playing with texture in mono-crome outfits. In my opinion wearing mix texture is a lovely way to lift basic wardrobe pieces. After a life time of fear of crop trousers (being tall makes everything too short) I finally decided to stop avoiding them, because after all its all a matter of balance. I absolutely hate when I read  “don’t wear this or that for your body shape”. Fashion rules are consumerism slogans. Have you adopted a style you haven’t before? Do tell.

So cute! Love the yarn you used on the scarf. It’s amazing how the black stands out.

  • I was wondering where you found such a fine-gauge sweater knit… fabulous idea to recycle an old sweater!
