Adrienne Skirt by Style Arc

This skirt was my first project of the year. I really really love it. I worn it so much already (you can see snippets of what i’m wearing day-today on my Instagram). The vintage corduroy was bought on a craft market sale. This fabric is very warm, soft and has beautiful caramel tone colour however what makes the fabric so lovely in real life makes it impossible to photograph. So I’m sorry for the pictures… those are my best attempts to try to capture it how it fits and moves. ( no I don’t own a wind machine lol…) The skirt looks so much better in real life and that is what matters.

I love how this make is super on-trend. It was very easy to sew making a perfect candidate for a first project after christmas hiatus. I really want to make a denim version with patch pockets so I can go mad on contrasting topstitching. Because of the texture of the fabric the only change was to sew the facings with a lighter matching fabric.  This is straight from the envelop (no fitting alterations) and the result looks like the pattern cover… Wooohoooo!stylearcadrienneskirtvintangefabric3

That fabric is delicious and so perfect for the skirt. It is such a flattering style on you and the fit is perfection. Great job showing the movement without the wind machine!

  • Charlotte Wensley

Love this! I made one very similar from a vintage pattern. In denim. With patch pockets. And heaps of top stitching. It’s fab, I love it so I’m looking forward to seeing yours! X

  • This skirt is perfect, especially in that fabric! Very timeless.
