Pink & black soft bra: Simplicity 8228

The best part of sewing lingerie is picking all the prettiest lace. The precision sewing and all the small part sounds hard but really as I mentioned previously; sewing lingerie is highly addictive and not complicated. Today I would like to share my fist version of Madalynne’s collaboration with Simplicity. div

I like wearing soft bras at home… and tell me that isn’t the epitome of luxury? To wear the prettiest handmade bras. Even when you wear it under that overstretched sweatshirt. I made size 36DD view A. Only modification was to lengthen the neck slightly to accommodate my height.  Fit  on the cups is really good. The power mesh I bought is really supportive making this bra a huge success. I didn’t have any scalloped lace so used a contrasting lace trim for a neat finish. I think it worked pretty well. I really love this.

8228:Two soft cup bras (bralettes) and one panty. The halter bralette has a plunging neckline, scalloped lace edges and a double hook and eye closure at the back. It has channeling at the cup seam (but no underwires) which adds some support. The racerback bralette has a sweetheart neckline with scallop lace edges throughout. The panty is high-waisted with lace side panels. The bras are available in sizes 32A through 42DD and the panty is available in sizes XS-XL.

  • What a great combination of comfy and glamorous! I love the contrast between the different styles of lace and the pink one is particularly chic. 👌

You chose a beautiful fabric combination for this project! I’m eager to get copies of these patterns! They look lovely!

  • Beautiful pictures, Rachel!

Gorgeous and beautiful, I’ve never made lingerie but I would love to have a go at making one of these. I need to find a copy of this pattern and some good supplies online as none if the shops near me sell anything that would be needed.

  • That’s really gorgeous. I recently picked up her new patterns, too, and I’m anxious to give bra-making a try. I love how you’ve styled this shoot. I’m too modest to photograph myself in my undies for my blog, but your photos still show off a lot of detail and are interesting. Good job!

  • What beautiful lace Rach! You’ve really inspired me to give this one a try

You’re UK based, right? Where do you buy your lingerie fabrics and supplies?

    • Jo, i buy my suppliers everywhere. On the link for the elastic post I named some sources.

        Ah, thanks!

Glad to see this made up by someone in real life. I own the pattern, but haven’t gotten around to making it yet. The color combination is lovely. I can’t tell on my phone, but is the pink a stretch lace?
