I love easy to wear clothes. Add a pinch of design and a bold print and I’m in summer heaven. The pattern is Named Clothing Delphi Maxi dress. A knit maxi dress with a layered bodice, spaghetti straps and an elastic waist. I was in love with this design as soon as I saw on their pattern catalogue but wasn’t sure if the dress layered shape was going to look on me. I have mentioned a few times that I’m symmetric hourglass shape and normally styles with volume only on top don’t suit me very much. I keep wishing I made it but keep putting it off. Does this happens to you?
Resigned that another summer has gone by and ready to put my unfulfilled summer plans till next year when the weather dude forecasted a warm week ahead. It was my last chance. Gotta make that quick summer maxi dress.
The Olympics is finished but I can still feel the whole buzz around it. Watching Rio on TV got me feeling full of ‘home’ energy. You know… “Brasilianess”!!! I went for a very patriot print knit bought a few years ago. Isn’t this print fantastic? GO Rio 2016! Go Brasil.
I am dazzled with this dress. It’s so flattering. It has so many cute details like the back twist. LOVE LOVE LOVE (I have a second one cut ready to sew as I type this post.)
Personal notes: The pattern size 38 without alterations. Instead of self made bias I used fold over elastic. It has the perfect structure for holding the weight of the fabric and comfort.
Ps. Thanks for the lovely compliments on my new hair cut. I often post beauty tips (and other subjects) over my snapchat if you guys fancy hearing my thoughts outside fashion sewing. If you pop on my insta-stories now you can see this dress moving.
